Meet Our Retiring Heroes

Fireball’s journey started at Rosenberg Animal Control, but his story is one of true heroism—helping save multiple lives while in our care. His incredible Rosenberg foster/volunteer never forgot him, visiting him regularly until today, when she officially made him a permanent part of her family. Congratulations to Fireball and his dedicated human!

Adoption alumnus Miller is living his absolute dream life with his adopter, CJ! In their first five months together, this gentle, introspective pup has conquered camping trips, group training classes, and plenty of morning cuddles. “He really is the gentlest boy,” CJ shares. “Thank you for him! It feels like Christmas every single day.”

I couldn’t be happier with the experience of adopting Charlotte! She absolutely loves her new home—especially lounging on the porch and playing with her jingle balls on her own rug. She’s completely taken over the living room! She’s also a huge fan of her food menu, happily devouring her Fancy Feast Medleys and Purina dry food. She is so beautiful, clean, and clearly well-loved from her time at the rescue. The care and TLC she received there before coming to me was unmatched. What a fabulous cat indeed. Thank you so much for helping me bring this amazing girl home!

I wanted to share a quick update on Tsunami! Everything is going absolutely wonderful—I love her very much and it’s clear she is one happy kitty.

From the moment King Tut arrived home, it was clear he knew he belonged. By nightfall on his very first day, he had already claimed his favorite spot—curled up on my shoulder, purring softly in my ear as he slept soundly through the night.

This sweet boy settled in with ease and has been nothing short of a lovebug ever since. It’s safe to say King Tut is adjusting beautifully to his new kingdom—and we’re absolutely smitten.

Jango has settled in beautifully—and won the hearts of everyone in the house, including the cats! Our plan was to keep them separated at first, but the cats had other ideas and broke through the barrier to meet him right away. Luckily, Jango handled it like a pro. He was calm, respectful, and gave them all the space they needed. Even our most timid cat came around quickly.

He’s loving his time outdoors and getting the hang of toys (his first BarkBox arrived and was a big hit!). Jango’s still figuring out some indoor quirks—he’s not a fan of wooden floors just yet—but his sweet nature shines through. He hasn’t barked once, but he makes sure to express his affection in other ways… especially with his big, heartfelt hugs.

We’ve shared some photos of his journey so far, and we feel incredibly lucky to have him as part of our family.

I can’t believe it’s only been two days—this sweet goofball already feels like he’s always been part of my life. Everything you said about his personality was spot-on, and I’m so happy I found you all. He’s exactly what I was looking for, and he fits in perfectly.

He’s already won over my entire circle of family and friends—so much so that I’ve joked about frisking people before they leave, just to make sure no one tries to steal him! He’s that lovable. Most of us are long-time fosters or adopters, but we never even knew out-of-state rescues were an option. That’s definitely changing now.

There have been quite a few Amazon deliveries since he arrived (how could I resist?), and I can honestly say: I love this dog so much. Thank you for helping us find each other.

Thunderstorm is settling in beautifully. He was understandably nervous at first—new place, new sounds, new everything—but even on that very first day, he found his way to me for comfort and reassurance. It was clear right away that he wanted connection, even through the nerves.

Each day since, he’s opened up a little more, becoming the sweetest, snuggliest companion. Now when I pet him while he’s lying down, he’ll roll gently from side to side like he’s saying, “Don’t forget this side too!” His trust is growing, and it’s been such a joy to watch him relax into the safety of home.

The day we brought him home, he made sure I knew exactly how he felt—vocal and opinionated the whole ride from the bus. But every day since has been a little softer, a little sweeter. Thunderstorm has been an absolute angel, and I’m so grateful to share my home—and my heart—with him.

Greta has given and received about a million kisses and is fitting in seamlessly. She and her brother Huxton wrastle until they tucker themselves out then cuddle up on the couch together. We are in love with her goofy little pumpkin head and she is so very loved. Thank you again for trusting us with this sweet girl.
